Mazes – Most Days (Fat Cat, 2011)

10 Feb

Last night I was walking up Kingsland High Street dodging pools of vomit and droves of boys in beanie hats and Barbour Jackets.  I  had a cold, I was weary.  I was like, ‘Fuck this. I’m through with Dalston.  It’s all bullshit.’

I started making a list in my head of remote places I could escape to.   Just as I was starting to think that The Reykjavik Howl had a pretty good ring to it I found this in my inbox:

Mazes – Most Days

And I realised, shit yeah, there might some barf outside Efes but there’s also some really good shit on my doorstep.  Most Days is a big fat slab of sunshine cutting through the clouds of an interminable winter.

A Thousand Heys, the album from these Dalston-based boys, is out in April and it’s sure to be the soundtrack to the summer.
